I’m the recipe developer, photographer and great food lover behind all the recipes you can see here!

I started this blog in 2018, as a space where I can share my passion for photography and insatiable appetite for exploring new areas of cooking. At that time, I was entering active life as an aeronautical engineer, and found myself with more time to cook, travel, play sport and learn about food and nutrition.


Being a vegetarian with allergies since my teenage years, I decided to finally take the plunge and stop consuming all animal products. That’s when I realized that eating mainly plant-based back at that time was a real challenge. Eating out was not an option, even in Paris, and the in-store offering was very poor.


So I started to experiment in my kitchen, develop my skills, and create my own recipes in order to continue to enjoy my favorite desserts. Two years later, I quit my job to fully live my passions.

FAQ

When did you start Early Brawd?

I started Early Brawd back in 2018. I was sharing my content on Instagram for a few months and decided to chronicle all my recipes online in the form of a blog. Early Brawd has gone through several changes so far and I keep working to make it evolve to offer you the best user experience!

What does Early Brawd means?

Early because I’m an early bird. The first hours of the day are the most precious to me. I love to wake up early and enjoy this peaceful moment to either work or prepare a delicious brunch during the weekend. Brawd is a combination of braud, which means bread in Icelandic, a place and culture I love, and raw, because I truly believe in the power of unprocessed, natural and seasonal food.

How did you learn to cook?

I’m originally not a great cooker! To be honest, I had never really cooked before entering the working life. But I spent hours in the kitchen watching my mother cook when I was a child. I learnt everything by myself, browsing logs , cook books, experimenting (and often failing) in my kitchen!

Are you a full time blogger?

Yes, I created my food and photography business in 2018 and work full time on it. On top of blogging and content creation, I offer photography and food consultancy services for brands and restaurants.

Where else can I find your recipes?

You can check me out on Instagram and TikTok. If you love my recipes and want more, you might check my E-Books where you will find exclusive recipes! I’m also the proud author of my own cook book, a collection of 85 recipes inspired by popular cuisine from around the world! It’s available in French only for the moment.

What camera do you use?

For both photos and videos, I shoot with a Canon 5D mark iv, that I absolutely love. I mainly use two lenses for my food photos: canon EF 24-70 mm f/2.8 L II USM which is very versatile, and canon EF 100 mm f/2.8 for closeups.

Do you shoot with artificial or natural light?

For years I’ve been only shooting with natural light, but I started to use artificial light to be able to shoot at any time of the day. As a lighting gear I use Aputure 300X with Light Dome ii.

How do you edit your photos?

I edit all my photos on Adobe Lightroom Classic. It’s the most powerful software for photography editing. I’ve developed my own Lightroom editing presets that I use all the time! For my videos, I use Final Cut Pro.

Do you teach food photography?

At the moment I don’t offer food photography courses, but maybe one day. I’ve learnt a lot about food photography from the courses at Foodtography School, they really helped me to upgrade my photography level and create my brand. Enjoy 15% discount on all the courses with my code ALICE.
